Mental Slapstick is the company name under which we write, direct and pursue our various creative endeavors. While most of our focus these days is on our own projects -- primarily feature-length and short films -- we still enjoy collaborating on interesting work by other people whenever we can.

STEPHANIE ARGY: I began my career in the editing room, then got an amazing education in filmmaking by writing about motion picture craft for publications such as American Cinematographer. As a writer/director, I try to combine storytelling with a fluent and unexpected use of technology, especially visual effects (which I love to do myself whenever possible).

ALEC BOEHM: Only two things have ever really made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up: movies and music. I’ve been a musician since I was 14, and Steph and I wrote and directed our first film when I was 28. I think that makes me incredibly lucky. In my spare time, I’m also a photographer.
